217 CVPC Cement

E-Z Weld Super Duty Gray is heavy bodied, slow set CPVC Solvent Cement. This cement is formulated for use on CPVC pipes and fittings.  It is viscous (thick) and, carries very good gap filling properties. This cement is ideal for joining large diameter CPVC pipes & fittings where the gap between pipes and fittings is large. It may also be used on small diameter pipes and fittings. This cement requires a longer cure time. When joining large diameter pipe & fittings the use of primers is highly recommended.

Application

This cement is good for joining Schedule 40 & 80 PVC pipes and fittings up to 12” diameter interference fit. It is approved for hot (up to 180 degree Fahrenheit) and cold water pressure applications. It may al be used for non-pressure applications such as drain, waste, vent, sewer, gas, conduit etc.  For superior joint use with E-Z Weld Primer, Purple (No.212) or Clear (No. 211). Never add thinner or additive. Never use the cement if it is stringy or jelly like.

Always follow instructions on the label.

Application temperature:                         32 degree F to 110 degree F.

Storage temperature:                              45 degree F to 110 degree F.

The ASTM has developed the following schedule and may be used as a guide (for relative humidity 60% or less. Sch. 40 size pipe.) eg. a 2” pipe size joint made at 55 degrees F, 50% Relative Humidity and a test pressure of 100 psi would require a cure time of 4 hrs.
